Caustic Soda
Sodium hydroxide or caustic soda
Sodium hydroxide or caustic soda is a slighty viscous crystalline liquid produced by the electrolytic dissociation of sodium chloride. OxyChile manufactures in its Talcahuano plant membrane grade liquid caustic soda which represents the most advanced technology available. Its main characteristic is its high purity level which makes it suitable for processes that require low chloride levels such as pulp and paper, food industry and water treatment. OxyChile also manufactures diaphragm grade liquid caustic soda at Oxychem's plants in the United States. This grade is used by most industrial processes. Other grades are also available.
